Catalog Advanced Searching
The Catalog Search page allows users to search for active catalog items. The Keyword Search field allows you to enter as much information as possible about the item for which you are searching. You can make your search more precise by using wildcards. Please refer to the “VSS Search Functionality” and “Wildcard Search Examples” topics for more information.
In addition to the standard search functionality the Keyword Search field supports special characters and reserved words for catalog advanced searching based upon the database that is being used (that is, Oracle, IBM DB2 or Microsoft SQL server). For a complete list of the special characters and reserved words by your installation’s DBMS, please refer to “Appendix A (for Oracle)” and “Appendix B (for Microsoft SQL Server)”. A few examples supported by Oracle are listed in the table below.

After you have entered your search criteria, click the Search/Apply action. The results are returned in the grid based on relevancy. The relevancy is determined based on how closely the catalog item matched the search criteria entered.
