You must provide an email address that you or another authorized member in your organization has access to.  If you do not have an email address, you may sign up for a free email service and use that address as a point of contact.

After you provide a valid email address for your account, you must select this action to initiate the email verification process.  The system only displays the action if you provide an email address that meets the basic standard format for an email address.  Once the action is selected, the system then sends a verification code to your entered email address, thereby verifying that you have access to that email account.  You will need to enter this code in the Email Verification Code field to continue your registration.  If the email address is not of a valid format or the entered verification code does not match with what was sent by the system, you will receive an error detailing what needs to be fixed in order to continue with your registration.

The Email Verification Code field remains protected until you select the Send Email Verification Code action and system confirms that verification code has been sent to the entered email address.

You can select the Resend Verification Code action displayed under the Email Verification Code field.  A new verification code email will be sent to you.

How do I know what the password criteria are for the application?How do I know what the password criteria are for the application?

Once you start typing in the Create Password field, the system automatically displays a pop-up box that displays the password criteria you need to consider.  The system also shows the password meter to visually indicate the password strength based on the password criterion.  We encourage you to enter a strong password.

Why do I have to setup a security question and answer and what is it used for?Why do I have to setup a security question and answer and what is it used for?

The security question and answer are used for added security in the system. They help the system verify you as a valid user in the system. The security question and answer can also be used by the system to verify your identity when you are attempting to modify sensitive or confidential data in the system. You may be requested to answer the security question you defined when registering in VSS if you are making modifications to data in the system that is considered sensitive or confidential.
