New users can create a new account by selecting the Sign Up button. You are then taken through the steps to create a new VSS account.
If you are a registered vendor, then populate the User ID and Password fields and click the Sign In button.
If you forgot your User ID, you should select the Forgot User ID? link that is located beneath the User ID field. You are then taken through the steps to retrieve the User ID by entering the Email, Last Name, Vendor Customer Code, and Phone Number linked to the registered User ID. If you are unable to remember those details, then contact your site Administrator to retrieve your User ID or the Help Desk.
If you forgot your password, you should select the Forgot Password? link that is located beneath the Password field.
Yes. If you attempt to respond to a solicitation by clicking the Respond button next to the solicitation, you will receive a prompt to either sign in to your account or create a new account.

The Find Department Contacts section allows you to search for and view the contact information for a specific Department. For quick retrieval of a Department Contact, click on the first letter of the Department's name, or start typing the Department Name you’re searching for in the search text field and the page will be filtered to show the Department Contacts based on your search criteria.

How do I respond to a Solicitation?How do I respond to a Solicitation?
You can respond to a Solicitation by selecting the Respond button next to the corresponding Solicitation.

If you are a registered vendor, then enter your login credentials on the Sign In window that appears and then select the Sign In button. This takes you to the My Online Response page, which allows you to record your response for the Solicitation.

If you are not a registered vendor, then select the Sign Up button, which transitions you to the Sign Up registration form. Refer to the “Register Your Vendor Account” section above for more information. Once registered, you can submit a response to published solicitations.
You can view the Solicitation by selecting the Solicitation link in the grid. This link takes you to the Solicitation Information page, which allows you to view all published information about the Solicitation. Refer to the “Solicitation Information” topic for information on how to respond to a Solicitation from the Solicitation Information page.
If the status of the Solicitation is Reopened, it means that the Solicitation has been reopened by the buyer after the original Solicitation Close Date and Time. You can still respond to this solicitation by clicking the Respond button. This navigates you to the Solicitation Response page where you can enter your response. Alternatively, you can click the Print Response action found in the 3-dot menu to submit a paper response.

You can view the site’s purchase history by selecting View Recent Purchase History from the carousel on the login page. Registered vendors can log into VSS and access the Purchase History page via the Business Opportunities landing on the Primary Navigation Panel.
You can search for purchase history for a specific commodity code by manually typing in the commodity code in the Commodity/Service Code search field. More than one commodity code can be entered by using a comma between values. You can also select commodity codes via the Commodity/Service Code pick list.

The Keyword Search field scans the Solicitation Number, Solicitation Description, Department, Commodity Description, and Buyer Name for the occurrence of the keyword.

How do I search a catalog?How do I search a catalog?
You can search for catalog items by selecting View Catalog Items from the carousel on the login page. The Catalog Items view displays all active catalog items in the system. You can narrow your search by entering search criteria in the search fields. Select Show More to view all available search fields or Show Less to show fewer search fields. Select Search after you have entered your search criteria. If any records match the criteria entered, then the results are displayed in a grid beneath the search fields. You can select Reset to remove values from the search fields. Refer to the Catalog Advanced Searching help file for more information about the Keyword Search field.

After performing a search for a catalog, you can view additional information by selecting the expanding arrow next to the catalog item. To view all details about a catalog item, select the Details button. This button transitions you to the Catalog Line Details page, which allows you to view detailed information about the catalog item. A picture of the catalog item, if available, is shown as a thumbnail in the expanded grid view and on the Catalog Line Details page. Selecting the thumbnail displays the image in an expanded view, and this can be done both on the grid or the details page.

A registered vendor can upload catalogs after logging into VSS via the Catalog Upload page, which is accessed within the Catalog Management business process from the Primary Navigation Pane. Follow the instructions on the Catalog Upload page for more information.

What is the purpose of the Bulletin Board?What is the purpose of the Bulletin Board?
The Bulletin Board (BBS) allows vendors who want to partner with another vendor on a Solicitation to create a posting. Both registered users and guests can view BBS postings. A registered user can post to the BBS from the Bulletin Board page that is accessible after logging into VSS.
You can narrow the list of records on the BBS by entering a value in the search fields.

The Keyword Search scans the Solicitation Number, Solicitation Description, Department, Commodity Description, and Buyer Name for the occurrence of the keyword.

The Show Me search field allows you to narrow the listing of solicitations by the following options:

All Postings – Allows you to view postings on all solicitations, including Surplus Auctions. This is the default view that is displayed.

Closing Soon – Allows you to view all solicitations that have a Closing On date within a specific number of days specified during system setup.

Recently Published – Allows you to view postings on solicitations that have been published within a certain number of days.

Recent Amendments – Allows you to view postings on solicitations that have been amended within a certain number of days.
